All Change at the top!
Effective from 1 August 2010, Martin has become Chairman of Jegs, passing the mantle of Managing Director to Eloise Gibbons. Eloise joined JEGS in June 2008 then was appointed "Director" of Jegs in October last year, after a successful career in sales & marketing management in the UK & global IT industry. Whilst Eloise assumes the day to day management responsibility of JEGS, Martin will continue to be closely involved in the business, maintaining responsibility for all product selection, buying groups and visiting customers. As a family business Eloise has grown up with JEGS and understands the important principles of our company which will continue in the future in helping you to grow your business and compete successfully against the multiples: Product Quality, Service, Range and Price., This is an exciting time for JEGS. Along with our newly launched website. We also launch our new catalogue at the end of August which will have over 500 new lines from existing suppliers. 20 Year Service Award – Jegs Electrical Ltd
In recognition of 20 years’ loyal service, Teresa Seaman was presented with a gold jewellery set from Martin Gibbons, Managing Director. Teresa works in the purchasing department of Jegs. Martin paid tribute to Teresa for her excellent contribution over the years.

JEGS Win Direct Diamond ‘SUPPLIER OF THE YEAR’ Award 2010.
For a record third time, Jegs Electrical Ltd were voted ‘Supplier of the Year’ by the members of the BHF BSSA Group. The award was presented to Martin Gibbons, Managing Director, & Claire Cherry, Chief Executive Officer, at the Direct Suppliers’ Away Day in Stratford on 14 April 2010 by Sadie Chalkey, Group National President of BHF BSSA Group. Martin paid tribute to all the members of the Jegs team who contributed to winning this industry honour: “Jegs prides itself in the longevity of its staff and to win in the year of our 40th anniversary is a testament to our values of providing quality, service, price & range – to the independent trade.” Jegs Electrical were proud winners of the same award in 2005 and again in 2007. JEGS 40th Anniversary.
Jegs has come a long way in the last 40 years! I am immensely proud of what we have achieved & that our original ethos of supporting the independents against the multiples has not wavered. Our philosophy has always been to provide Quality, Service , Price & Range which has stood us in good stead over the last 40 years, & I see no reason as to why this should change over the forthcoming 40! My sincere thanks & appreciation to our excellent team of staff - both past & present - without whom the success of Jegs would not have been possible, & not forgetting, of course, our loyal customer & supplier base, some of whom have been with us for all 4 decades! With the trials & tribulations of the 2007 fire behind us & with the benefit of a fantastic new warehouse & a new, state of the art business software solution (including exciting new website) soon to be implemented, the future looks extremely bright for Jegs. Here’s to the next 40 years!!

New Directorships Announcement.
JEGS Electrical Ltd has secured its long-term future by establishing Eloise Gibbons as an Executive Director with Helga Gibbons as a non-Executive Director. JEGS has been a family business since its inception in 1970 and now as Directors both Eloise and Helga will assume more active roles in the company. Eloise has had a successful career in sales and marketing management in the UK and global IT industry, joining JEGS last year after 11 years at IBM where she was a senior manager in a territory covering Europe, Middle East and Africa. Helga has experience of skills and enterprise development within the international sector. Despite the fire JEGS has managed to successfully rise from the ashes! JEGS is now in a positive position to look to the future and continue to build on its success. JEGS is also looking forward to celebrating its 40th anniversary next April.

In recognition of 20 years’ loyal service, Marie Robinson received a Tiffany silver necklace from Martin Gibbons. Marie joined Jegs on the Youth Training Scheme and is now their Customer Service Supervisor. Martin paid tribute to Marie for her excellent contribution over the years.

Jegs at IHA.
Martin Gibbons was honoured to meet Princess Anne at the International Hardware Conference in London in September 09. Princess Anne had graciously agreed to be patron of the event, organized by the British Hardware Federation.

Jegs Support Home Hardware.
Jegs has supported Home Hardware for many years and in September, our Southern Area Sales Manager Andy Russell and West Country Area Sales Manager Dudley Loates were at the West Country Home Hardware Show. Customers had the opportunity to see many of the new lines in our 2010 catalogue including Kenwood, Appliance Plus and some of our heating range. The Feedback was very positive with several customers commenting on how impressed they have been with JEGS and are now switching to JEGS as their preferred supplier.

Jegs at the Autumn Fair.
Jegs exhibited at the Autumn Fair under the CHA umbrella. Thanks to all our customers who came to the stand to see our extensive range of small kitchen appliances and electrical products. The show proved very successful for us.

Jegs is Delighted to Sponser the Congress.
The International Hardware Association is a worldwide special interest group for the housewares, hardware and ironmongery industries. In 2009 is will reach its 100th year. The British Hardware Federation, one of the 3 founding members of the IHA, has been given the honour of hosting the IHA Centenary Congress this year, which will be an extremely prestigious event to be held in London for the first time. HRH Princess Anne has agreed to be the Royal Patron for the event and will be attending part of it. The congress takes place 18-21 September 2009.

Gerry Duffy joins Jegs Electrical Ltd!.
We are extremely pleased that Gerry Duffy joined us on 17 August to boost our sales team in Scotland. Gerry has a wealth of experience gained from many years in the trade, especially in Scotland. He is very well known throughout the industry, both with the retailers and manufacturers.

Official U.K Opening.
David Amess, MP for Southend West was delighted to officially open the new premises at 20 Progress Road, Leigh on Sea. In his introduction speech, Martin Gibbons paid tribute to the Jegs team for their dedication & commitment to not only getting the company up and running 5 weeks after the fire, but also during the building project culminating in the new building. Mr Amess congratulated Martin Gibbons and the Jegs staff on the quick recovery from the fire in Dec 07 and on the fabulous new warehouse, built on the same site as the original building destroyed in the fire. Guests, including several long-standing local customers, several major suppliers, Trade Press, the building team & of course, members of the Gibbons family, then enjoyed a buffet lunch and a tour of the building.

Official Staff Opening.
Martin Gibbons was pleased to officially open the new warehouse at 20 Progress Road. Martin thanked all his staff for their amazing support since the fire, especially the warehouse staff who have worked extremely long hours both moving the stock and indeed to catch up on the orders after the move. Staff celebrated the move to the new building with a toast of bucks fizz and a slice of cake, adorned with a picture of the new building.
